Another great place to grab some local food and it's only a block from The Pono Kai is The Pono Market. It's a great family owned business. The have great prices on the traditional Hawaiian staple, The Plate Lunch. They get busy and sell out on some things early. It's best to call or stop in the day before and tell them what you want. Tell them the time you want to pick it up and it will be ready for you. They put the order in a take out box and you can eat it there or go back to the resort or you can take it and enjoy it on the beach two blocks away.
