This is a photo of driving along Kuhio highway. Kauai is rural and this is the road that goes around most of the island. Because of the Napali coast the road does not go all the way around the island. It stops and you turn around and go back. Speeds range 25 to 55 on the highway.
On the north side of the island there are several one lane bridges that you have to go over. Driving on Kauai is fairly easy as long as you're used to driving on rural highways like this. It does get very dark driving at night. Especially if your used to driving under city lights.
